10th July 2011 News
So after the half way point of
Renegade I decided to have a little
change. Well a change is as good as a rest.
I spoke with my children and we
came up with the idea of toys in a music video. I wanted to
try and bring them alive using techniques I'd seen by
Patrick
Boivin and other green screen tricks.
I wasn't bothered for this film
about the quality of the effects and to be honest some turned
out better then others, but the key to this was having fun.
We filmed the video over a couple
of evenings and I spent a few hours trying to get the special
effects shots done. Editing was a breeze, but there was a
point where I needed more footage (Maybe I could have planned
better?).
Finally I had the family round
and was totally thrilled to see people in tears and telling me
how funny it was. For me that was a result, so I decided to
upload it so the world could see.
Yes the purist will find fault in
the fact I've used copyrighted music, the effects are lame and
maybe the story has no depth. I say if you like a little
bit of a laugh and to see people having fun
Teenage Hippo Dreams
ticks all the boxes.

Hello,
So I wanted to update my blog
because I have two things which I'm happy to release relating to
my 2011 project.
The first is after making a
decision I have come up with a name and have incorporated it
into my first poster for the film.
Renegade

Secondly I have put a preview
together of this project, more in an attempt to get people
interested, to show a little tease and for my benefit.
Feedback is crucial and hopefully this will be well received.
Project 2011 - Renegade stands at
35%
complete.
Thanks for visiting.

News
Hello Again,
So another month in the world of
my art. Continuing where I left off and trying to make
some ground on my plans for 2011.
I have made some progress in my
projects for 2011 and have added another item to 2011. I
have been asked to be part of the making of a
Kick Jitsu
DVD for Andy Morrell, president of
Cobra Martial Arts,
the club I go to.
We should be filming this
sometime soon, hopefully April. I'm looking forward to
making this DVD for the club, adding another string to my bow
and hopefully helping the club.

I have been hard at work trying
to create the style and environment for my project 2011. I
have had a number of titles for this project "If Ever", "Dead
Stop" and the likes but none really work. I'll probably
wait until post before I name this project and for now it
remains "Project 2011"
The style has always been to be
grungy, dirty and to give the impression of time passed. I
think I've finally got this and this whole project will be based
in one location to keep things simple for me. I've used the
West Park pack from
Daz 3D for the
main style, this pack is exactly what I needed and I've managed
to get it inside
iClone and it looks perfect. So thanks to
Jack Tomalin for creating such an amazing pack.
I've narrowed the character list
down, so even though the entire story has a large cast, this
project will only focus a small number. This will help me
focus on the project and give me the scope to get made and
released.
I have managed to release a few
development shots straight out of
iClone and I'm
impressed by the look I'm getting. You can get more
details from the Project 2011 page
but you can view them here as well.

Hope you enjoy them.

Music
I have decided on the main theme
song for this project which will be my interpretation of the
classic Nik Kershaw song
"Wouldn't
It Be Good" but heavily inspired by the
Tina Arena version. I hope to do both versions justice
but will add my own flair to the recording. My daughter
Catherine Cooper will be providing the vocal.
Thanks for visiting.

20th March 2011
News
Hello Everyone,
Well another month has zipped
along at an incredible rate. Cannot believe we are already
in March and the clocks are going forward next weekend.
So what's been happening in the
world of Capemedia?
I was asked to go on the
Valentines February 14th "Wolf
and Dulci Show" and had to carry this out virtually. I
recorded my responses then Damian and Dulci asked the question
live, listened to my responses and then discussed my answer.
It went really well, apart from the fact I wasn't able to be
part of the discussion, where on listening back I wanted to.
But it was good fun.

My project 2011 has made some
progress, mainly around the story but I have made some assets
within iClone.
Today I gave you a little
background behind the story to tell you it's based in the
"Forgotten" universe.
"Forgotten" was a film made 2
years ago and had a lot of people work on the project.
Unfortunately due to a hard drive failure around 80 hours of
work was lost and I lost the will to continue it.
However the story was really
strong and I have loved the concept of genetically enhanced
humans. So I have decided to write a new script based
around events happening now, with reflection back to what
happened (I'll explain all this to those unfamiliar at a later
date).
Typically the stories end up far
too complex and that's where I am trying to figure out how to
simplify the story against how long to make the film.
I've decided to release a piece
of concept art to give you a tease of the main protagonists.
Music
I have been working in the studio
these last few weeks on Catherine's album track and mainly on a
cover of "Ain't Nobody" by Rufus and Chaka Khan. So far
it's sounding good, needs more work but I'm happy.
Thanks for visiting.

News
Hello Everyone,
A new year and a pretty
good start in the world of my art. I entered the
SketchUp and iClone Rendering Contest at the
beginning of January with my little movie
"We Must
Never Forget".
One of the most difficult
projects I have had to make due to the nature of the subject
matter. At times I had to stop my research as it was at times,
far too painful to read.
This entry is a reminder of mans inhumanity towards man and
something that we must strive to never be repeated.
Models:-
Auschwitz gate, arbeit macht frei, poland by chevin
Drewniany barak odcinka BIIb (Wooden barracks section) by
Sebastian Sosnowski
System wiez strazniczych (The system of watchtowers) by
Sebastian Sosnowski
Music was "Imagery" by Terry Devine-King - from
Audio Network
The results were announced
on 26/01/2011 and I have not won but the feedback alone
made this a worth while entry for me.
-
I also have a project in the
works but as always it's typically taking forever. I'm
hoping to release something in the not to distant future but all
I wish to say at this stage is that I'm working on it.
No information yet but there is a
page setup - No Title which is
where my project for 2011 will evolve.
Thanks for visiting.
